Raiders Request Interviews For Two New Candidates

The Las Vegas Raiders are in the middle of a head coaching search and have added two more names to their list. The Raiders requested interviews with Jeff Hafley, the Green Bay Packers’ defensive coordinator, and Nate Scheelhaase, the Los Angeles Rams’ passing game coordinator.

Hafley’s recent tenure as defensive coordinator for the Packers highlights his experience, as the Packers finished 12th in yards allowed and 11th in points allowed in 2025. Despite a strong 2024 season, his defense struggled down the stretch without Micah Parsons, and Hafley’s group surrendered 25 fourth-quarter points in Saturday’s game in Chicago.  His prior coaching includes roles as a college and NFL defensive back coach, Ohio State defensive coordinator, and Boston College head coach.

Scheelhaase’s rapid rise from Iowa State’s WR coach in 2018 to offensive coordinator and QB coach in 2023, along with his age of 35, highlights his promising career trajectory and has sparked interest and optimism among NFL teams.

In his first season as the Rams’ pass game coordinator, Scheelhaase’s unit ranked 1st in yards, touchdowns, and 2nd in first downs. In college, Scheelhaase was crucial in the recruitment and development of Ke’Sahwn Vaughn, Hakeem Butler, David Montgomery, Brock Purdy, Charlie Kolar, Breece Hall, Jaylin Noel, and Jayden Higgins
