Sierra College Beats East L.A 87-55

`The No.5 ranked Sierra College Wolverines took on the No.7 ranked East L.A. With the two teams closely ranked, you would think it would have been a close game. However, Sierra had other plans in mind; they blew out East L.A. 87-55.

The Wolverines started slowly in the first couple of minutes but got it together and led after the first quarter, 30-13. Sierra used strong defense and shared the basketball to build the lead. At halftime, Sierra was up 48-25

By the end of the third quarter, the Wolverine build up their lead to 30 points with a 71-41 score at the end of three. But, again, it was a dominant performance by Sierra.

Jesse Miller led the way with 26 points while adding nine rebounds, six assists, four steals. Miller played an outstanding all-around game. Jenny Duley added 15 points, Christina Oliva scored 11 points.

Kiki Griffen had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, Brianna Lambey added ten and nine rebounds. Devon Lewis, who rebounds well for a guard, hauled in nine rebounds, had three assists and three steals.

With the win, Sierra will advance to the championship game of the Golden Gate Classic.
