It looks like the Jadeveon Clowney watch could finally be over; according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, Clowney is expected to sign with the Tennessee Titans. Earlier today, Clowney fired his agent Bus Cook and hired Kennard McGuire to work as his agent.
Signing with the Titans will reunite Jadeveon Clowney with Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, Clowney’s position coach and defensive coordinator when they both were with the Houston Texans. While playing under Vrabel’s scheme, Clowney had the best season of his career in 2017.
In 2017 the pass rusher had 9.5 sacks, 21 tackles for a loss, and 21 quarterback hits. Reuniting with coach Vrabel will be helpful for Jadeveon Clowney’s success this season.
Last season with the Seattle Seahawks he had three sacks in seven tackles for loss in 13 games. But did score two defensive touchdowns and was disruptive on the Seahawk’s defensive line.
Injuries have affected the former Seahawks player career; when healthy, he is one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL. Clowney joins the Titans with just a week before the season starts, but he is familiar with Vrabel’s defensive system, huge for Tennessee. If Clowney can stay healthy, he would be an outstanding addition to the Titans defense. All he needs to do now is play himself into shape.
